Dan is a graduate of Fairfield University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Prior to attending law school, Dan managed a portfolio of multi-family properties in New York City and brokered the sale of commercial properties. While at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Dan was a member of two honors councils and successfully participated in law school competitions. In fact, in 2007, Dan represented the United States in the International Negotiation Competition for Law Students in Singapore.

Today, Dan represents individual and corporate clients in the purchase and sale of single-family homes, cooperative apartments, condominium units, multi-family apartment buildings, retail properties, mixed-use properties and office buildings. Dan counsels clients in the financing of properties, corporate formation and drafting of commercial leases. He also represents clients in various types of civil litigation.

A connection to his community remains a priority. Dan learned about the value of being part of the fabric of a community from his parents. In 2012, the City of New York renamed a portion of Giles Place in the Bronx as Howard E. Padernacht Place to honor his father’s dedication and contributions to the community. Dan is the former Chair of Bronx Community Board 8 (2014-2017), current Chair of the Traffic and Transportation Committee of Bronx Community Board Number 8 and Vice-Chair of the Land Use Committee. Dan provides pro bono legal services to tenants, community organizations and certain individuals who would otherwise be unable to retain counsel.
